Stolen Kisses
Beneath a moonlit gaze
Tender Caresses
Effecting a stuporous daze
Heated words
Carelessly whispered in an ear
Of passion and promised love
A body’d desire to hear

Secret Letters
That bare the soul
Gifts; of food and trinkets
Intended to show
What’s written in bold
Across the heart
“I love you”
And
“I’ll never depart”

Ah, The Lovers’ delight
In Wanton Abandon
Setting  hearts afire
Since Time’s creation

And always the poet
Agent of articulation,
Stands ready to fan the flames
With generous Application
Of vivid colours and sounds
Tastes and Textures
Intoxicating aromas that abound

It’s no wonder man submits
Without much restraint
To Sweet Temptation
Like the canvas to the paint
Depicting a perfect picture
Of Love’s unconstraint

Just cuz I hate this day don't mean I should be a spoilsport for the rest of you :)

  2. LMAO! I celebrate the Feast of Saint Valentine and pray for the strength and conviction that he had, as well as his open heart and loving soul.

But this commercialised valentine's day? The one where people who ignore their loved ones all year suddenly decide to do a turnaround for just one day? Phooey! Love is to be celebrated all year through.

That said, it would be nice to have flowers and candy one of these days, just so I can act girly and squeal and stick my face into fresh flowers and worry about getting them into water ;) Any one of these days, not only this one. (has never been given flowers before in her entire life.

  4. I love this and dislike the 14th of Feb.
Show me love every day, in any way you can, that pleases me, but leave the 14th of Feb. out
In a spirit of love, Happy Chocolate Day. :)

  5. Are we kindred spirits or what!!!
I dislike the 14th of Feb too.
It is so over commercialisted and a great excuse for people who profess to love to ignore you all year round and suddenly remember you exist on the 14th of Feb of every year and then send you a text. (note: anyone who has ever done that is an acquaintance and not a friend; my friends know my dislike for 14th Feb and what people make it represent)

  6. @Tetekai, (hug) glad you like it. Can't wait to see what you come up with ;)

Hmm...I think if someone were to show me love all through the year, I wouldn't nag at them for doing something special on val's day. If it's an everyday occurrence, then why deny them something they do naturally? It's the waiting till this one day that annoys me.

Like, sin all week long than come clean up on Sunday at church. When will we get this straight?

  8. Oh Daixy... I read somewhere that you were a wee bit crazy? C'est vrai? You've never been given flowers? Ever? No romantic men in Accra? Too bad 1800flowers.com doesn't deliver in Accra, or I'd send you a bouquet.
And... I'm not that old... I think.

  9. Mike, if you are serious about those flowers i can get you a florist who makes the most exquisite of bouquets. :)

  10. @ Abyss, I sent out text messages to six people on v-day. I met up with two of them later and gave them their gifts. Quality time with me and assistance with stuff. Oh and fuel and candy ;)

Leaving a message ain't bad. If we had to find gifts for every single person we wanted to call friend, we'd be broke lol

  11. @Dzi, I'm truly touched. Your opinion really matters to me and I appreciate your kind words. Happy chocolate day, darling.

I don't know about making money. When it takes so long for inspiration to hit...kinda makes it hard to say, "hey buy my stuff" lol

  12. @Mike, dude I can imagine your bill once they're done shippping the flowers to me ;)

A little bit crazy? Check the tagline honey. "Thoughts of a Ghanaian Madwoman" I am certified lol (just don't tell my family).C'est vrai, mon ami.

  13. @Tetekai. Oh you're a wicked enabler lol. Now I see why we get along so well.

Yes, Mike, I'm sure she would help you get flowers to me. Much like I would sneak love letters to her home on behalf of some infatuated pre-schooler. Our love for fireworks is crazy lol

  14. @Tetekai. a bit aside- I saw your profile. Do you have a CV/Portfolio I could look at? Daixy can give you my email. I couldn't find yours.
As for flowers.. if you can circumvent that wall Daixy has (parents et al), I'd be very impressed.

@Daixy ...I'll save my words for elsewhere. I almost can't wait for March.
